Forgiveness, Not Violence

Azim Khamisa lost his son, Tariq, to a senseless act of violence. Forgiveness gave his life a new purpose. Khamisa and Ples Felix, the grandfather of the boy who killed Tariq, have formed a bond to prevent youth violence.

"I like to quote Gandhi. 'The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.'" -- Azim Khamisa

"Mr. Khamisa's forgiveness and the forgiveness of Mr. Khamisa's family helped my grandson realize he is not a throwaway person." -- Ples Felix.

Senseless Violence, Unbelievable Forgiveness: The Tariq Khamisa Foundation was published in the San Diego Union Tribune on October 8, 2016.
