Summer School

 2012 Summer School Options

The following list of colleges offering summer school classes was forwarded by City counselor Roberta Krauss courtesy of Grossmont College EOPS.

SDSU: Current local community college students can cross-enroll in one course at SDSU for $10 without being enrolled at a community college in the summer. The requirements for City students:
  • Completed one semester at City
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • CA resident
  • No registration hold


Southwestern College: Limited summer courses at their satellite locations only.

Grossmont College: Limited six and eight week summer classes starting June 11.

Cuyamaca College: Limited six and eight week summer classes starting June 11.


The following schools are offering summer classes, but they are outside of SDSU's local service area. This has ramifications for SDSU's TAG. 

Palomar College: Summer classes beginning June 18, registration starting May 8th.

Mira Costa College: Full schedule of summer classes will go online 4/20/12.

California Virtual Campus: CA community college online courses. Search for summer 2012 classes in April.

Brandman University: Summer classes $470 per course.

Columbia College: June summer online classes $495 for 3 units, in-class courses $687 for 3 units.

CSU San Marcos: First summer session is June 2 to July 7, second summer session is July 9 to August 11, and full summer session is June 2 to August 11. Fees for non-CSUSM students -- $362 per unit.  

UCSD: Summer classes $1,356 per 4 quarter units plus $100 application fee and additional campus/course fees depending on location/course.

Argosy University: Online and in-class courses $1,680 per 3 unit course.

University of San Diego: Requires special application form for non-USD students and $2080 tuition for a 3 unit course.
